First victories for Nieschlag, Frintova in ITU Huelva World Cup

HUELVA – SPAIN – Glorious sunshine and pristine beaches packed with spectators welcomed participants to the first ever ITU Huelva World Cup, where two newcomers finished on top of the podium. Germany’s Justus Nieschlag claimed the men’s gold after a consistent and dominant race, with Czech Republic’s Vendula Frintova winning the women’s race by a comfortable margin over the rest of the field. South African pro athlete James Cunnama smashed the Club La Santa IRONMAN 70.3 race on Saturday 02nd September 2017, slashing almost 17 minutes off the previous record set by Spain’s Eneko Llanos in 2015. MADRID, SPAIN – It was a day of firsts in the Spanish capital for the 2017 ITU Madrid World Cup, with both Ryan Sissons (NZL) and Georgia Taylor-Brown (GBR) winning their first ever World Cup. Also first on the podium were Taylor Spivey (USA) and Chelsea Burns (USA), as well as Raphael Montoya (FRA) while his compatriot Simon Viein grabbed in Madrid his second world cup top three finishes.
